So I consider myself a pretty fiscally responsible person. I am blessed at budgeting and delegating efficiently how money should be spent and what to spend it on (however if you looked at my stock portfolio you wouldn't think so :/ but that 's besides the point) It's just what I have an act for, but when it comes to spending money that isn' there….well that's a God thing.
A big obstacle for me has been how to pay for all the OTHER things required for this journey besides the $15,500. That in itself can be overwhelming. The other essentials lie in vaccinations which have cost me right around $1,200 and gear/clothing which have cost thus far right at $1,000 (that's still going up mind you), and I have to have $2,100 put back while I'm gone to be paying on the monthly balances on outstanding student loans that I have. Yes, I am disclosing my financials to you all…but God's working miracles and I have to talk about it.
WHERE IS ALL THIS MONEY COMING FROM?
To be honest I have no clue. I do have a good paying job (for a single guy like myself), but not to the extent of what this is costing. No new sources of money have come in for me to pay for all of this…STUFF. It just seems to be stretching and multiplying right before my eyes. The story that comes to mind is how Jesus in the gospels took the little boys lunch of fish and bread and multiplied it to feed tens of thousands of people….It just happened. The food just kept coming. That's exactly what He's doing with my money and I'm completely debt free. No credit card debt whatsoever. I haven't even lowered my grocery bill. I still eat to my stomachs desire. He Is WAY too good to me! Do I take the credit and say I'm just financilly savvy? Well, that goes above my head, because I have a secret…I can't create money that isn't there. But my God can…haha. He is so good at busting out of the limitations that I put on Him. Who made the stars? Who measures the cosmos with the span of his hand? And I have the audacity to say He can't provide a few thousand dollars.
As far as the $15,500 goes for the trip. I'm not quite there just yet, but I have a little less worry now. I believe for big things and I just know He will provide that too. I believe He wants to use people like you to do it. Individuals who move when God says to move and give when God says to give, because you know the blessing that follows obedience.
