I have a problem…
I get too many visions
from God.  People have told me that’s a good problem to have, and I
agree.  Still, I must learn how to operate as a visionary.
I had a breakthrough recently.  A friend who I have been walking
closely with for the past three months gave me some great feedback.  Any
of you who have spent time with me may have also picked up on what the
Lord showed my friend.
“You are coming up with new things to do everyday.
In going after all these things, it’s impossible to complete
everything, and it leads to feeling defeated.  You are creating this
storm over your life that makes it difficult for you to see anything
through to the end and with excellence.”
This wasn’t a hard word to receive, it was brought
in love and something the Lord had started to impress on my heart.  In
fact, it brought immediate breakthrough!  Right away God started to show
me ways this was going to bring victory in my life.

My life has completely changed since this breakthrough.  I love creating and developing ideas, but my focus has shifted.  My goal is to become more disciplined and develop myself into a person who is more focussed.

The other day I created an “idea box”.  Now, whenever I get new ideas or visions I write them down and put them in the box.  This is a simple and practical way for me to keep myself from spending all my time developing ideas.  I leave the idea in the box and occasionally pray about it.  Over time, the ideas that don’t need to be pursued I will toss, and ideas the Lord is breathing upon I will either develop or give away.

“A boy does what he wants to do in spite of what he needs to do.  A man does what he needs to do in spite of what he wants.”

I still have dreams.  I still have visions.  But for right now, I simply want to “build the wall right in front of me” (blog coming soon about this).  I want to do the thing that is right in front of me to do.

There are usually boundaries in art, and those boundaries help to create the beautiful finish.
