While in Nicaragua we ministered at a home for abused children and teens. The home was called “The Quinta” and everyone there was so incredible. One day my teammate Kelsi Dawe and I decided to make a stop-motion film with the kids. We took a few hundred photos and put together this video:
Creating the film was a great way for us to connect with the kids in spite of the language barrier. The kids enjoyed it so much (as did Kelsi and I), that over the course of two weeks Kelsi and I went back and shot around 9,000 photos, creating a 10 minute stop motion film! It became sort of a creative arts class that Kelsi and I taught for the kids.
At the end of the month, we got to show the kids the film that they starred in AND helped to create! It was beautiful. Creativity is a miracle 🙂
The 18″ Journey, among many other things, was an incredible opportunity for me to go to a creative arts school. Through brilliant teachers, incredible classes, and many unforgettable experiences, I was able to unlock even more of the imagination and creativity that God gave me. I can’t wait to share what I’ve been given with more kids all around the world!
Would you consider making a donation today towards 18″ Journey support? If 13 people each gave $100 I would be fully supported.
[If you would like to donate towards this you can make a check out to ‘A Place for the Heart’ and send it to: Michael Sanders 340 N Hayworth Ave #304, Los Angeles, CA, 90048, please email me [email protected] so I can keep my support count updated, THANKS!]
