Israel is a beautiful land that is
rich in history. It is a land that has
been torn by war since the beginning of time it seems. Peace never seems to come to this place,
which is ironic because the meaning of Jerusalem is ‘city of peace.’ I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the
fact that there is, and has been, so much fighting in this land and wondering
if it will ever stop and if there will ever be peace. It may sound harsh, but I think the answer is
no, not until Jesus returns anyways. I’ve
also been really thinking about how and what I should pray for when I pray for
the country of Israel, and the more I think about it, the more I believe that I
should stop praying for peace.

I know what you’re
thinking, why stop praying for peace? I believe
that when praying for peace over this land, we’re really praying for a band aid
to be put here. What I propose is this: Pray for everything in the Bible, especially Revelations,to come to fruition. When reading throughthe book of Revelations we
see war, we see destruction, but ultimately, we see VICTORY. Victory that comes in the name of Jesus,
because He has returned to bring the Kingdom of God in a very real, very
tangible way. When we pray for the
promises in the Bible to come to fruition, we’re praying for true peace, true
victory. Don’t get me wrong, praying
for peace is not a bad thing, but I
think our prayers are better served when we pray for God’s will to be done, and
for His promises to be fulfilled.

So, that’s my
proposal. Stop praying for peace, and
start praying that true victory comes in the form of the Lord Jesus’ return.
