Hey folks,
This post is mainly just to give more information about what the World Race is and the route that I'll be going on. Let's get started!
The World Race (visit the website HERE for more info) is an 11 month long mission trip organized by a non-profit, non-denominational missions organization called Adventures in Missions (www.adventures.org). On the World Race, I will be spending one month in a different country for eleven months straight, with the purpose of spreading the Word of Jesus, and growing personally in my faith. I will be traveling with a group of around 50 people known as my squad. Within the squad, we have been divided into different teams of around 7 people. Everyone on the squad travels the same route, which is to say that we will all be traveling to the same countries. However, within those countries we will be scattered throughout doing different mission work with different mission contacts. The only possessions that I will have throughout the journey will be what I can fit into my camping backpack, and the only assured accommodations will be a tent that I will be bringing.
This January, the World race will be sending out almost 250 people on five different routes. World Racers will be involved in various ministries including preaching, evangelism, and teaching. We will also be doing things like ground upkeep, construction, orphan care, working to connect people to local churches, working with sex trafficking victims, etc. Basically, we will be ministering to our contacts, as well as the people that those contacts are working with.
In order to go, I will have to raise over $16,000. If you are interested in donating, please read my Donation Blog for more information.
I will be leaving on January 9th, 2014 and heading to the following places:
Zambia
Malawi
Estonia
Latvia
Lithuania
China
Mongolia
Thailand
Cambodia
Vietnam
Nepal
This route is likely to change, as it has already changed a couple of times. However, this is the tentative plan.
This blog is just a 10,000 foot overview. I just wanted to have some key facts and information posted as a launching point. Be on the lookout for more blogs soon. Also, feel free to contact me if you would like to know more!
