“Oh those eyelashes! Don’t you just love his eyelashes?” This is the first thing anyone says when meeting my baby Kenneth whom I have had the privilege of loving on the entire month in India while serving with Sarah’s Covenant Home, a ministry of India Christian Ministries that provides a loving home for special needs orphans throughout India.
Upon arrival to SCH, they asked each of us to take on one child as their mother for the month. Kenneth is not the most gregarious child nor does he smile and laugh too often. And immediately, I knew he was mine.
I don’t know what it was that drew my heart to his, but what I do know is this…he loves a warm embrace, he is inquisitive and curious, he has great hair, he is mysterious, it is a miracle he is alive, he can rock a pink onesie and he drew me in with just a glance.
Now, I will share with you the day when I first heard my sweet boy laugh. I was extending all his little fingers out, and he began to belly laugh for a good 30 seconds. Oh, did that make my day! Of course, what do I do but start crying tears of joy as I sit and watch him laugh! Since this day, Kenneth has been smiling and laughing on a daily basis, which shows such progress and growth from when he first came. I know my Heavenly Father was smiling at us in this moment and showing me just a glimpse of how He feels about His children when we allow our joy to radiate through us. Oh, how He loves us so!
As any proud mom would, I do want to “show off” my bundle of joy, so without further ado…meet Kenneth.

Following is the vision of Sarah’s Covenant Home as taken from their website at www.schindia.com:
“The vision for Sarah’s Covenant Homes is to provide our children with the next-best thing to a traditional family. Love, growth, laughter, nurture, and more love!
Over 100 children have been referred to us by the government, having been abandoned or relinquished by their families. Most of them arrive in extremely weak condition, with undiagnosed illnesses, anemia, and medical/surgical needs unmet. We provide them with medical care, education, physiotherapy, good nutrition & supplements, and lots of love.”
Like several of the children at SCH, Kenneth is still in need of sponsorship to help with his medical needs and care. I would like to invite you to prayerfully consider sponsoring one of these children. You can follow the links below to find out more about Kenneth and meet the other children:
