Light – inherently victorious – seeps into death and evil, loving them into life and warmth.
Song – essentially joyful – writes story into blank pages, invites family into orphaned places, paints cheer onto tired, worn faces.
N Squad has been afforded the amazing privilege to seek out two of God's fiercest weapons against a dark world in the Unsung Heroes Campaign.
The devastating reality that we live in is that there are people all over the world living trapped in darkness and silence. The overwhelming hope that we profess and declare is that "the people who walk in darkness have seen a great light." Though there are millions walking blindly through the world's blackest places of sex trafficking, forced labor, abuse, addiction, war, injustice, pain and loss, there are also those who are fighting to illuminate those places with the torch of the great light of Jesus Christ.
The Unsung Heroes Campaign has been created to find these heroes, these unknown beacons of light working day and night to bring hope to the hopeless, all in order to turn their arias into choral arrangements, to partner with them as brothers and sisters in Christ to shine light in despairing places.
Each month a different team will prayerfully seek to find these unsung heroes wherever we are, beginning with Team Arise&Go this month in Peru. We have been privileged with the opportunity to begin the process of networking within the area to make connections with local ministries and contacts to find those people who are working to bring the Kingdom among the least of these so that we might help them sing their song a little louder, introduce them to our supporters, make their name known among the body of Christ and establish mutually beneficial Kingdom-minded relationships that bring light to communities that desperately need it.
Team Arise&Go will be working on this all month looking for God's heroes among the Peruvian people. If you know anyone in Peru, please don't hesitate to let us know by using the "contact me" button on the left or leaving a comment below.
They're contagious.
If we seek out the unsung heroes, lift our light and join in their song, the world's ears will perk up. Its head will cock, its eyes will brighten and it might catch on to our tune.
And maybe, just maybe, the world will begin to hum along, to spread God's light and melody and life and warmth and hope and peace through the darkness.
because where there is darkness we will bring God's light,
and where there is silence we will sing God's song.
