My ministry this past week in Nepal was helping rebuild Holy Grace Church. The original building was rendered unusable and unsafe due to the earthquake that took place a few months ago. The pastor has around 50 members in his church, so the earthquake made it difficult for them to assemble together.
The pastor has an amazing vision for the new building and has been working so hard. He was there every day, showing us what to do and helping out. He didn’t stand along the sidelines, he was working alongside with everyone.
We cut bamboo, tied plastic at the ends of the bamboo with tin wire, climbed on the bamboo already in place to secure it with more tin wire and a lot of other cool things. It was probably my favorite week of ministry on the Race thus far.
The Pastor still has so much that needs to be done, and it requires a good sum of money to finish. There still needs to be bamboo, tin, carpet and so many other things that go into completing the church building that needs to be bought. There will obviously be a sanctuary, a couple rooms for the children, bathrooms, and a media studio.
The pastor owns a little coffee/tea shop to help raise money to help raise funds to build the church. However, he could use all of the help that he could get.
That’s where you, the person reading this, comes in.
Around $15,000 needs to be raised to fund the completion of the church building. My team mate, Jared, created a GoFundMe that you can donate to and the money raised will go directly to the pastor of the church.
If you feel led, the money you would give would be sown into good ground. The pastor has an amazing heart and loves like Jesus. He reminds me so much of my pastor, Pastor Dave, and my pastor has a heart for future generations.
Like the pastor here in Nepal, he also built a church by faith and a lot of hard work with many people in our congregation. He built it not just for the people attending the church currently, but for our children, grandchildren and so on and so forth.
Yes, it is just a building…but it houses Jesus’ church. And it can be used for so many generations to come. And that is what this pastor desires to see.
So be a part of something bigger than you can imagine, and donate to this cause. The littlest bit of money can go a long way.
After all, it’s your love and support that got me on The World Race.
