Wandanalu from India!

I have been in India for about 6 days and have already fallen in love with it. The culture is quite different than it is back home, but the people are amazing. The sense of community here is something America, for the most part, does not have.

My team and me are working with a ministry called Covenant Worship, and they have different centers through out Southern India. We are staying at one this month. My team is their “media” team for the month and we are supposed to film them worshipping, talk about the needs for the youth in Southern India, interviewing and so on and so forth. We also are asked to intercede, preach, and teach.

So far, we have been apart of two CWC worship services, done park ministry, a prayer walk and tonight we are doing more park ministry. All of the experiences have been phenomenal. Guys, when they worship…it’s more than just the songs they are singing. They know that to walk the Christian walk is not a game, it’s a battle for people’s souls. They love Jesus with their whole being and abandon everything to follow after Him.

The first time I saw them worship, I didn’t have to understand what they were singing. My heart understood. I felt Jesus there as if He was right beside of me and tears came to my eyes. Others that were there with me felt the same thing.

On Sunday morning, worship was just as great. I was especially surprised when they started playing “Break Every Chain..” and not just because the fact it was an english worship song, but because my team mate Jen walked into our room, and put her earbud in my ear and it was that song. So profound.

Chains are being BROKEN in India. Chains of oppression, suicide, depression, sexual immorality, and more chains than I can count.

Jesus is raising up an army to push back the darkness in India. I see them. I’ve got to meet them. And I know through them JESUS WILL SHINE IN INDIA!!!!

I’ve seen so many things in these few days that I’ve been here: things that have broken my heart, things that get me fired up and angry at the devil, and things that have made me fall in love.

People here bright up when you smile at them-they are hungry for love. Just as we are all hungry and thirsty for more without the love of Jesus. I’m telling you DON’T FORGET ABOUT INDIA! PRAY FOR INDIA! God has created these beautiful people and He is calling people to action to pray, support and respond to what He is doing here. He loves them. Jesus loves them. I love them.

I am sure if God has an iPod of some sort, He has a playlist of music that moves His heart. And I am so certain, the song “Jesus is King” (It’s really in Telugu not English, but I don’t know how to spell it haha) would be on His playlist.

I feel like God has given me a bit of His love for India and the people here. I love the ministry my team and I are a part of and I feel super humbled to be here at all.

I am sure I will write 2-3 more blogs about India before this month is over.

Thank you all SO MUCH for your support that got me here and is keeping me here. Please continue praying for my squad to stay healthy physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Sincerely,
Meraia
