NEWS UPDATE: I am fully funded for the World Race!

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated, covered this fundraising process in prayer, or supported me in any other way – sending encouraging emails, leaving blog comments, sharing about the Race with friends and family, etc.

It has been amazing for me to see family, friends, complete strangers, and anonymous donors come together to give $16,250. You could buy a car with that. Or exchange it for 113,750 bolivianos and spend 18,958 hours online (that’s over two years, 24 hours a day) at the internet cafe in Mapiri, Bolivia.

Fundraising has been a beautiful experience for me. I’ve gotten to see God pouring his love, faithfulness, and provision out on me through people’s generosity. Thank you again to everyone who’s been a part of that.

SECOND NEWS UPDATE: My team needs your help!

I have two teammates who are still in need of funds. Please pray for their funding to come through, and also consider making a donation to help them out.

Bailey Balenti is our team leader from Bixby, Oklahoma, and she needs just over $1000 to make our next financial deadline of $11,000 at the beginning of April. She is our life-size Pocahontas doll who can also manage a construction site and operate heavy machinery. She’s a picture of Christlike servant-leadership, and she teaches me by example about leading and serving in humility and love.

Crystal Avery, from Columbus, Georgia, is safely past our next financial deadline but still needs about $5000 to reach the full $16,500 required for this trip. She’s my fellow Atlanta Braves fan, and at 5’10” she can commiserate with me every time I whack my head on something (probably a 2-3 times a week occurrence; the third world was not made for tall people). She is full of wisdom and quiet strength, and shows me every day what steadfastness and faithfulness look like.

These ladies are awesome, and I can’t imagine my year without either of them. They are well worth skipping a few trips to Starbucks and pitching in $20 (or more!) to keep them on the mission field.
