I logged into my fundraising support account earlier this week to find an anonymous donation for $2100. I made an incoherent noise of shock (those of you who know me well can imagine an appropriate sound, I’m sure), and then just started laughing because I was so tickled.
People have anonymously given $3346.36 to support my trip thus far. That’s about 21% of the total amount that I need.
I hope at least some of these mysterious donors are reading this blog, because I want to say THANK YOU. I literally wouldn’t be here ministering in Ecuador if it weren’t for you.
Fundraising is a stressful process for a lot of people, but I can’t say the same for myself. For me, fundraising has meant seeing people’s love and support in a very tangible way. From the beginning, I’ve trusted that if God were going to send me on this adventure, he’d provide the funds. I can’t describe how awesome it’s been, though, to see his goodness and provision through the generosity of friends, family, people I’ve never met, and people whose identity I’ll never know.
It means so much to me that people are willing to support me with their hard-earned dollars. For all I know, this most recent anonymous donor may have given a full paycheck or more, which is pretty mind-blowing.
One of my favorite parts of fundraising has been praying for my donors. Anonymous donors, since I don’t know any specifics, here are some of the things I’m praying for you:
- That you will be blessed many times over for the way you’ve blessed me
- That God will show you his goodness and kindness
- That God will draw you to himself and give you peace and joy
As an aside, anyone reading this should please feel free to comment or email me with prayer requests any time.
I want to leave all of you with Aaron’s blessing from Numbers chapter 6:
The Lord bless you and keep you;
the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;
the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.
Thank you again to all of you who have supported me with prayers, finances, supplies, and love!
