Ok y’all! I have been slacking hardcore on fundraising and by slacking, I mean I’ve done basically nothing. I can blame it on a multitude of things but it mostly comes down to me being lazy and not fully committed to making the path God has led me on happen. So I’m about to turn this ship around and get on board the World Race train but I really need your help!!!!
I have to raise a ridiculous amount of money- at least $17,500! I have a mini anxiety attack every time I think about that number. It seems like an impossible amount to raise but I know if this is truly the path I’m to take, God will make it happen.
So in order to make this happen, I am going to ask everybody I know to help me on my mission to bring Jesus around the world. It’s hard and scary to ask for money from people but at the same time, so humbling. God is showing me even now that I cannot do this journey alone- I cannot do it without Him and I cannot do it without you! I know God is preparing me and helping me build my support team before I leave so that when I am gone for a year, I know I am not alone and will have the strength to keep on going.
I cannot begin to tell you how important support from every one of you will be on this journey. My previous time overseas showed me how important it is to have a great group of supporters by your side, praying for you and cheering you on. Financial support becomes the least of your worries when you are alone in a new country, surrounded by a new culture, new people, and feeling like you are all alone in trying to do what God has called you to do. Before I even get into the financial stuff, I want to ask you to consider just being one of my moral supporters and encouragers. This means following my blog and keeping up with what I am doing while I’m gone, sending me the occasional email so I know I haven’t been forgotten, and most importantly praying for me! I will be trying to keep up with this blog and hopefully sending newsletters out while I’m gone so that everyone can stay updated on the awesome work God is doing in the countries I will be travelling in. Even if you are not feeling called to support me financially, please send me your email so that I can add you to my list of supporters!!
And now for the good stuff… Like I said, I need to raise about $17,500! *deep breathes* This amount is literally what I will live off for almost an entire year. This includes all travelling expenses (getting to and from 11 different countries), food, shelter, vaccines, visas, and supplies I will need as I travel. Again, I know it’s a lot of money but after seeing what it covers, it’s a pretty reasonable amount.
So this is where y’all come in!! I cannot accomplish my goal without A LOT of help. There are a couple ways to give. You can give a one-time donation of whatever amount you wish (seriously even $1 helps!) or you can partner with me for the next several months and donate monthly. I do not need to be fully supported before I leave in December. As long as I have donations coming in as I’m gone, I can keep moving from country to country.
I have several deadlines I need to meet with the first one of $3500 being in September 30th. The next deadline to be reached is $7500 by December 16th. I need to reach the third deadline of $11,000 by April 1st and I must be fully funded by July 1st, 2015.
I know I can reach these goals. But I also know I need your help! I ask that you would pray and consider helping me reach these deadlines but more importantly help me accomplish this task God has put before me. I do not know why God has chosen me to be the one to go and I feel extremely blessed that this opportunity is before me. But I know for a fact that I cannot reach these people around the world without the people who are willing to be senders. I am humbled that I get to be the messenger, but that is only one part in this mission. Your part is just as important, if not more. This opportunity to reach people is not just for me. It is for the people who aren’t able to drop everything and go as well. You do not need to be the one going to make a difference and to reach people! So I ask you to take some time and pray about what you can do to help me. Whether it be donating money, sending an encouraging card, or giving me a phone call letting me know you are praying for me, I will appreciate and look forward to whatever comes my way. This is not an easy task I am taking on but I have no doubt that this is the path for me so I hope that you jump in and take this journey of a life time with me!
