Lots of people have lots of questions about that pesky little piece of my trip called FUNDRAISING! So I’m going to try and answer, this post will be long, I’m sorry ahead of time!

One: How much do you have to raise and by when?
Ok, let’s be honest, clearly I work at ENC because I love it not for the pay check because that’s certainly nothing to write home about ๐ So the thought of having to raise $15,500 is kind of overwhelming. And by kind of I mean absolutely! So the great/bad thing is that I don’t have to have all that in by July to leave. Great because as I mentioned that’s a crazy amount of money and bad because I don’t want to be somewhere in Eastern Europe and find out I have to go home because I don’t have enough in my account. So here are the deadlines set by the World Race people:
- $3500 before training camp (I haven’t gotten a date yet but some deductive reasoning makes me think April/May2011)
- $6500 before Launch (JULY 2011!!!!!)
- $11,000 by 3 months into your trip (September 2011)
- $15,500 by 6 months into your trip (December 2011)

Two: How much have you raised?
Great question! So far I have officially just over $2100 in my account (THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to those who have donated so far!). I also have $350 I have to mail in from selling bracelets through Threads of Hope (Thanks to everyone who has bought 1 or 20) I still have more to sell and I’m pretty sure they make great stocking stuffers. ๐ And then I have an additional $127 in coins people have donated! Sweet! So total over $2500 which is a good start.
Questions 3: How can I help??
Oh boy am I glad you asked that! Well here’s some bulleted ideas of fun:
- If you are in a place financially and would like to partner with me then you can give a donation. No donation is too small (for reals $5 would brighten up my day, that was $5 I didn’t have before you came around) or too big (anyone got $1000 just lying around with nothing to do? Got some $500 bills under your mattress? I’ll take care of those for you ๐ ). If you look to the left you’ll see a link that says Support Me Please. Go ahead and click there, it’ll give you all the information you need to make a TAX-DEDUCTIBLE gift. That’s right it’s almost the end of the year–last minute giving always a good time! Please note if you give online there are fees taken out of your donation for processing fees from banks and credit cards so checks mailed to: Adventures in Missions PO Box 534470, Atlanta, GA 30353-4770 are ideal–make sure my name is on it somewhere please! Did I mention it’s TAX DEDUCTIBLE?!!? Just wanted to make sure.
- Are you super involved in a Church/are a Pastor? Would you be willing to let me come talk to your church, youth group, Sunday School, Ladies Group, Men’s Fellowship, or any other group about this trip and how God led me here? If so: AWESOME! Let’s pick a date!
- Save your pennies! (And nickels, dimes, quarters) For real, I’ve only been collecting change since mid October and already have over $100–it adds up so quickly! I even got a sweet change sorter from a wonderful friend so you don’t even have to roll it for me…wicked awesome!
- Have an fantastic fundraising idea? Share it with me! I’m trying to come up with a bunch of different fundraisers but this is not a strength of mine so share those ideas and I’ll totally give you all the credit for the amazing idea!
- Bottle Drive anyone???
- Share my story with family and friends. I have been amazed by the people who want to help me–this is a great cause and people want to get behind something like this. You could invite me over to meet some friends. We can have coffee, eat some pie and talk about this amazing adventure. And if you’re reading this it means you probably love me and if you love me doesn’t that mean your other friends would!?!? Just saying…
- Forward my blog around (maybe not this one–I mean I worked hard to make it fun but doesn’t really win people over), share it on facebook, tweet it, you get the idea.

Ok this blog has gone on way too long but thanks for reading and sharing in my story! I’m grateful to all of you! Hugs and Kisses forever and ever!
