During our stay in Peru, we have been serving with Savage Ministries. Joel and Maria Savage have been nothing less than gracious and loving towards us. From the moment I arrived to our compound, I felt at home. They received us with welcoming gifts and a delicious plate of food. Their intentional and genuine hospitality will be something that I will carry in my heart forever.
But their service wasn’t just towards us; they serve this city of Trujillo so well. Savage ministries serves in various different ways. They run a pre-school in Trujillo called L.K Wolter Academia Cristiana. There they have about 100 sponsored 3-5 year olds. Each class have loving and dedicated teachers who teach them their fundamentals. The children practice social skills and are fed nutritious meals. Most of these children do not come from Christian homes. So in everything the school does, they are extremely intentional about teaching and sharing the love of Jesus.
During this month, my team and I were able to help them prep for the upcoming school year. We helped by painting the classrooms, painting a mural in the front of the school, and prepping materials for the teachers.
Savage Ministries also started a new church right in the heart of the city of Trujillo. Joel and Maria pastor this new church which called Vida Abundante. It’s right in front of the National University of Trujillo. That means they have an amazing amount of access to young people and college students! Vida Abundante has an extremely active evangelism ministry. They are always walking the streets, passing out flyers and smiles to the people of Trujillo. They also offer free English classes which has not only been a great resource for the college students, but it’s been a cool way to love on them and invite them to church!
My team and I were able to share testimonies and preach during their services. We also had a great time evangelizing alongside them. We were able to have awesome conversations with people on the streets and share with them that Jesus loves them. We were also able to teach English classes through games, vocab lessons, and conversations!
All this to say, Savage Ministries is doing the Lord’s work here in Peru! Their hearts reflect Christ’s heart. They love well. They serve well. Consider supporting them by partnering with them today! Cover them with prayer as they continue to spread the message and love of Jesus in Trujillo, Peru!

Durante nuestra estadía en Perú, hemos estado sirviendo con Ministerios Savage. Joel y María Savage han sido unas personas amables y amorosos con nosotras. Desde el momento en que llegué a nuestro lugar de estancia, me sentí como en casa. Nos recibieron con regalos de bienvenida y un delicioso plato de comida. Su hospitalidad, será algo que voy a llevar en mi corazón para siempre.
Pero su servicio no fue sólo hacia nosotras; ellos sirven esta ciudad de Trujillo también. Ministerios Savage sirve de maneras diferentes. Están a cargo de una escuela de párvulos en Trujillo llamada Academia Cristiana L.K Wolter. Patrocinan a 100 niños de 3-5 años de edad. Cada clase tienen maestros amorosos y dedicados que les enseñan lo fundamental. Los niños practican habilidades sociales y son alimentados con comidas nutritivas. La mayoría de estos niños no vienen de hogares cristianos. Así que en todo lo que la escuela hace, son bastante intencionales sobre enseñar y compartir el amor de Jesús.
Durante este mes, mi equipo y yo, pudimos ayudarles a la preparación para el próximo año escolar. Ayudamos a pintar las aulas, pintamos un mural en el frente de la escuela, y les ayudamos a preparar materiales para los maestros.
Ministerios Savege, también comenzaron un nueva iglesia en el corazón de la ciudad de Trujillo. Joel y María son los pastores; esta nueva iglesia se llama “Vida Abundante”. Está justo en frente a la Universidad Nacional de Trujillo. Eso significa que tienen una increíble cantidad de acceso a los jóvenes y estudiantes universitarios! Vida Abundante tiene un ministerio de evangelismo bastante activo. Ellos siempre están caminando las calles, repartiendo tratados y sonrisas a la gente de Trujillo. También ofrecen clases de inglés gratuitas que no sólo ha sido un gran recurso para los estudiantes universitarios, pero también ha sido una manera de demostrar amor e invitarlos a la iglesia!
Mi equipo y yo pudimos compartir testimonios y predicar en sus servicios. También tuvimos un gran tiempo evangelizando junto a ellos. Hemos podido tener conversaciones impresionantes con la gente en las calles y compartir con ellos que Jesús los ama. También pudimos enseñar clases de inglés a través de juegos, lecciones de vocabulario y conversaciones!
Con esto quiero decir, que Ministerios Savage, está haciendo una gran obra del Señor aquí en el Perú! Sus corazones reflejan el corazón de Cristo. Ellos saben amar, ellos saben servir.
