So the night was here… After a week of planning and getting things ready… the time had come… Carnival stations were set up, the food was prepared, the goody bags were lined up.. The kids began trickling in… one by one……… followed by there parents..
This night was set up simply to give the kids a Thanksgiving dinner. To allow them to be taken off the street for one night, put into a building and eat, and have a simple night to be just kids.. not having to worry about where their next meal was going to come from or how many car windows would they have to wash to be able to buy enough food to hold them over.
But the night, created just for the kids.. turned into a family affair. I thought this night was put on so the kids could be kids… but God had different plans… He created a night and environment, where families could have a family night… something they’ve never gotten to experience because it has never been available to them.. But this night was for them..
On November 23, 2011, 92 individuals were taken off the street and out of the alley for one night.. they were given an opportunity to be families without having to worry about where dinner was going to come from, or how they were going to provide for their kids.. Instead the whole family got to have a family night and embrace Gods love and appreciation for them.
