So sometimes I struggle with what is really interesting enough to post on this blog… a friend suggested I tell about what I’m doing to get ready… which is the point I realized I think my head is still spinning because I can’t even think of the simple basics… LOL so here’s a little look into what I’m up to these days…
-So in case you didn’t know… I recently moved to Connecticut and I really think it’s good for my soul! I’ve been spending as much time as possible with my family up here. It’s so nice to get to spend this time with them, I’ve never really lived close to them so this is such a nice change. Plus they are SOOO much fun and totally rock!!!
-Also started a new job of course, it’s awesome but challenging, which is a nice. An absolute great hospital with very cool staff. No complaints there and the days go by quick. =)
-Then the obvious…THE WORLD RACE! So when I’m not at work or trying to fit in some much needed family time I am working on something for my trip! And there is always lots to do between fundraising, preparations and this blog.
This week my main goal is to purchase, bargain or borrow the supplies needed for training camp. So yesterday I bought my new pack, headlamp and the pad for my sleeping bag… so interesting learning all about the different equipment you need to live out of a backpack for 11 months. Thankfully the one that was perfect for me was also really cute!!! LOL! Not the most important feature but it makes me smile! =) So now I need to get my tent and some other random stuff either today or sometime this weekend… my amazing cousin Jay is also getting married this weekend then I work a bunch of days in a row, then it’s off to ATL for training camp, check up with doctors, dentist, etc and I get to see my ATL Ohana and all my friends (well as many as I can pack into a few days with no car… lol!)
It’s going to be a CRAZY month… but let’s be honest if it wasn’t full of fun and ridiculousness, I would be totally bored and not know what to do with myself. =) So here’s to the next month friends, family and lots of fun… plus I get to meet my team next weekend… super excited… well that’s enough for now… LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!
