It is official….on January 13th, I will be leaving the comforts of the United States once again. After I was officially notified that I would be leading a group to Uganda, I asked myself the question, “Do I really want to do this again?” I had such mixed feelings, and so I decided to pray. God lead me to these reminders: 1. Sympathy without action is worthless. 2. I have a responsibility, not just to those near and dear to me, but to the multitude. After I got over myself, I decided to do some research and see just what the “multitude” in Uganda is dealing with right now, and the results were horrifying….child sacrifice.
People from Uganda who practice witchcraft, believe that children are pure. So if they sacrifice a child, basically as an offering, it will bring them wealth and good luck. Some children are killed by their own parents. These children are neighbors of a poor, unfortunate child who faced this rising epidemic. Parents are now circumcising their children and having their eas pierced. Piercing and scarring makes the child “impure”, so they are no longer a target.
This is what I am going to be face-to-face with, but I can’t do it without your help. Please help me get to these people. Please help me get to that mother who lost her child, so I can hold her in my arms, cry with her, and show her that there is hope and His name is Jesus Christ.
There is a very large need:
1. I need to pay off the last $500 for the World Race.
2. I need $1500 to get me to Uganda for 4 months (January to May)
3. I need a plane ticket from Florida to Georgia.
4. I need donations to cover vaccines and traveler’s insurance.
