Our two teams have been doing a Bible study on the book of
Acts. It was my turn to lead the study and God revealed several things to me in
Acts 4. In verse 13 it says “they took note that these men (John and Peter) had
been with Jesus.” I began to ask the teams if they think the Ghanaian people
could see Jesus on us this month? In my opinion, I don’t think they could. Yes,
we are His children, so we are a part of
Him, regardless of how we are feeling. But I personally have been so dry and
empty recently. Our teams have not been pouring into one another , loving each
other, and ministering to each other.

We have each been battling something and trying to fight on
our own, when we have 14 people to help. I am tired and exhausted . I need my
brothers and sisters, and they need me. In Acts 4:24 it says “They raised their
voices TOGETHER in prayer to God.” We need unity, we are not marching as one,
this body is breaking down. It’s not healthy. How are we even being affective
right now? Verse 32-33, “All the believers were in one heart and mind. WITH
GREAT POWER, the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord
Jesus, and much grace was upon them all. Verse 34, “There was no needy persons
among them.” We are all crying out right now, because we are not meeting one
another’s needs.

The day before I had watched the movie 300. I love the way
God used it to speak to me. He showed me, the reasons why the Spartans were so
strong, was because of their fighting style. They were a powerhouse because they
fought as one. They each put up their shields to protect the soldier to the
right and to the left. They marched as one. When the enemy tried to attack,
they could not stand against the wall of shields the army had created.

After reading the book of Acts, God lead me to Isaiah 61. In
the first couple of verses, it says, He has sent me to bind up the
brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives, and release from darkness
for the prisoners. I asked our teammates, who are the brokenhearted, and who needs
freedom from darkness? And many of us answered…WE ARE. In verse 3, it says we
are “to comfort all who mourn and provide for those who grieve in ZION.” Shawn
spoke over our squad that we were Zion. So God is saying we need to bring
comfort to each other, and once we do, look what happens. Later in verse 3 it
says, ” They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for
the display of His splendor.

We need to be spiritually healthy and filled up with the
Holy Spirit, so we are properly prepared for battle in this country. Once we
get there, then (verse 4) “They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the
places long devastated (Ghana). They will renew the ruined cities that have
been devastated for generations. We knew that ministry was going to have to be
put on hold, until we were healthy and life was poured into each other. We have
been going to the garden at the university and having Bible studies,
worshipping God, getting delivered, and speaking life over each other. This
time has been so great and we have bonded so much. Thank you Jesus for coming
to the rescue.
