I haven’t been treated well by men. I´ve been hurt by guys a lot. I am in the process of recovering from those pains. I don´t want to believe the horrible things I´ve been told. I want to believe the truths that God has told me.
Lies That Men Told Me
- You talk too much.
- You need make-up.
- You are too emotional.
- You can’t sing.
- You’re not smart enough.
- You are too skinny.
- You look better with straight hair, rather than curly.
- You are just an object and only good for one thing.
- You’re not enough. I need another girl.
- You shouldn’t be such a child (Loving Disney, bright fingernail polish, sundresses, etc.)
- Your personality is too much and can be annoying.
- You are not girlfriend material.
- You are not marriage material.
Truths That God Tells Me
- Your words are important and should be heard.
- Your natural beauty is prettier than anything make-up can create.
- You’re a feeler, like I made you and your emotions are raw and beautiful.
- Your voice is pleasing to my ears, especially when you sing with passion.
- You’re knowledgeable and you will grow in my wisdom as you get older and spend more time with me.
- Your body is in my likeness and you’re built fearfully and wonderfully.
- Your hair is gorgeous and I know how many small hairs are spiraled in those curls.
- You’re too special to give away yourself.
- You’re enough. I am jealous for you.
- Your childlike personality makes you fun and unique. You wouldn’t be “My Princess Melanie” without it.
- You are made as an ENFP, by me. Embrace it.
- You’re girlfriend material, then marriage material for the man I have set aside for you.
- You are perfect.
- You’re made you exactly how I meant to make you.
- You’re beautiful.
- I have set apart the perfect man for you that loves me and lives his life for me. He will love you more than you can imagine.
I´ve been in Peru for 2 days now, and I can already tell that this is going to be a month of eliminating lies. We heard a message yesterday on letting this month be a ¨safe place,¨ free of lies that we have heard and believe. It´s going to be hard as God allows things to surface, but it will be completely good in freeing me and finding my true identity in the Lord.
