My time in Ireland flew by so quickly! We had one week of training north of Dublin then traveled to Glaway, on the West coast, for two weeks of ministry. Three temans, including mine, became the “Green Team” from Discovery Church. I painted, scrubbed off graffiti, and picked up trash in the name of Jesus in order to bless the community, start conversations, and improve the image Christianity in Ireland.
Christianity is viewed very negatively in Ireland. Years of corruption and abuse within the dominate church of Ireland has caused a lot of people to not trust any churches. We found that Irish people, though extremely friendly, completely turn off at the mention of anything faith related. So we spent most of our time cleaning up the city or working on projects to bless our host church. Here are some pictures….enjoy!
