I had an entirely different blog to write about what I’ve been learning.

I will probably still write it.
But since it’s 4th of July and I am chilling at a hostel in South Africa (drinking a vanilla coke. and preparing to make MASSIVE amounts of dessert) I feel the need to write about FREEDOM.
I wish I could fully explain to you what freedom means to me now. I am sure in the states today people are super excited about what freedom means there in “land of the free home of the brave”
But people- there is so much more than that.
I’m experiencing freedom in ways that I didn’t know existed.
And like I said it’s hard to explain.
Freedom is the hope inside where you realize that the pain and the hurt you have felt all of your life no longer binds you.
Freedom is looking out over a cliff and NOT being afraid of jumping.
Freedom is realizing that even though you still have pain to walk through- even though you still have hurt to walk through that God will get you through it.
Freedom is being able to cry.
Being able to laugh in your tears.
Freedom is being able to allow God to hold you while you are flying through your life.
Freedom is being able to love well.
Freedom is realizing that you are exactly where you need to be.
And freedom is realizing you still have room to move forward.
That’s the freedom I am walking in this 4th of July.
