I feel as if this is all I've been able to think about the last couple days in Ecuador.
LOVE.
Team Veracity is so incredibly BLESSED this first month. We are living in beautiful El Tingo at the Mano y Mano ministry site. We attended an amazing church service where His spirit was fresh and new, we went to a beautiful park and walked around in a market and went to Central Quito and learned some of the histroy of this gorgeous place. We even met up with a team from Compassion and chatted with them for a second!
Starting tomorrow we will be working with kids in an after school program. Doing VBS and playing games, making crafts. We will have opportunities to go into the local schools and do some drama and pass out flyers for kiddos to come to the after school program.
Now back to this concept of love:

This is the view from the kitchen. We sit here and eat our meals together, just 8 lovely ladies [our team + our contact] talking about life and Jesus, and laughing a lot. [Veracity laughs A LOT]. We feel the hot sun on our backs and hear Jefferson [the dramatic cat] meowing in the background. We are slowly getting a groove of life together and what it means to live in community.
And as I look around the table at these women, I'm engulfed with love for them. Not just your everyday love, but this awestruck feeling of privelege when I realize that I get to do life with them. They are all so different and yet we are all the same. We are all women who are trying to find a way to love Jesus, love ourselves and love each other in this world. We've already gotten kind of close, have inside jokes, have crammed on busses with all of our stuff and are slowly learning each others hearts.
I know this is just the start, and I can feel and tell the God is moving in my heart.
Please pray for us as we start ministry tomorrow. Pray that we love each other well, love our contact well and love the kiddos and the people around us well.
