So there has been a slight change in our route. (Attention all future racers: they tell you at training camp to come with no expectations, but I will tell you the only expectation you should have is to expect things to change. It will happen, and not just once but many many MANY times!!!)
Month 2 is quickly approaching, and I can hardly believe it!! It seems like just yesterday I was saying goodbye and leaving for launch. But now the time has come for more goodbyes as we leave one ministry site, leave our squad and begin ministry with just our team for the first time.
Month 2 for Firestarters will be in Tocoa, Honduras. (This isn't far from one of the places where I served with my church back in March!!) We will be working with Open Doors Ministry. We will be working at an orphanage, a girls rescue home, teaching English, painting, helping at the feeding station, gardening, building a chicken coop, and so much more!! I am so frappin' excited about what this next month holds!!!

Please keep Fire Starters in your prayers. Debrief begins Monday, but tomorrow we are splitting up again and continuing our Unsung Hero ministry in Guatemala. Debrief begins Monday and then we are onto Honduras on Thursday. (Debriefs happen every few months for a few days at the end of the month). Pray for us as we travel, set up for ministry and our "homes" in this new area. Pray for the people we will come into contact with: everyone from the bus driver to the children and workers at Open Doors. Pray for the weather, today the heat index was 106, the warmest it has been in Guatemala is mid-80s!!! Pray for L-Squad as a whole, we have had an amazing month together in Guatemala and God has moved in ways I didn't think were possible. Pray that the revival God has started this month continues in our hearts individually and in our teams as we head out to our different ministry sites. (During this 2nd month half our squad will be in Honduras and the other half will be in El Salvador).
A few other changes in our route that we know so far: Month 3 will be in Nicaragua. We are no longer going to Australia-we just don't know where we are going yet.
