I am mainly doing this for my squad, so we can all get to know each other better before training camp but any one else interested is more than welcome to read.  50 things about me…

  1. I have several nicknames ranging from Meg, Mego, Meehan, and Banana.  Those will be the only ones shared at this time 🙂
  2. I love to travel.
  3. Until the WR I have never been comfortable fundraising, not even as a Girl Scout selling cookies…now it is all I talk about (just ask my friends, I'm sure they are tired of listening to it).
  4. 10 years ago Myers-Briggs personality test said I was 100% introverted….God has a sense of humor and is working on that.  I'm now 50-50 introverted and extroverted.
  5. I've had a heart for missions since I was 16 painting a house in Chicago IL with my youth group surrounded by gangs wanting to get into the house and raid for drugs.
  6. I love kids.
  7. I left my heart in India last summer…STOKED to be going back!!
  8. As much as I love my family and friends here at home….I feel more at home in India playing with kids in the slums.
  9. I want a tattoo (this is a new desire) but to big of a chicken….maybe while on the Race.
  10. I want to skydive.
  11. When I committed to the Race, I sold my 26 year collection of Donald Ducks. (yep I cried, part of being obedient).
  12. I have the most amazing, supportive friends in the world.  They are my family.
  13. I have a degree in Early Childhood Education…but work in the emergency room.
  14. Deathly afraid of snakes.  No joke people who try to play jokes on me get hurt.
  15. While traveling to India, I didn't go to the bathroom for more than 36 hours.  (before India I had this "thing" about using public restrooms…but after the first or second trip to the squatty potty I got over my "issue")
  16. I have the most AMAZING NEPHEW in the ENTIRE WORLD!! and no I am not biased.
  17. I have taught Sunday School.
  18. I grew up playing piano, and flute.
  19. Taught myself how to play tuba, trombone, sax, and trumpet.  TUBA is my favorite 🙂
  20. Volunteer in Arts and Crafts for VBS (learned the hard way not to hold the nail while a 6 year old is hammering)
  21. I LOVE my dog, Murphy.  Not sure what I'm going to do without him for a year. (see my facebook…even he is holding a Race sign.)
  22. I love to fly.
  23. I am very quiet
  24. I avoid confrontation if at all possible.
  25. I recently returned from Honduras with the most amazing group of people ever.
  26. You can learn more about a person on a mission trip with them in a week than you ever cared to know..,love you Dennis
  27. My favorite fruit is tomato
  28. I don't like vegetables very much.
  29. Love Indian food.
  30. Easily intimidated.
  31. Always knew I didn't want to go to a class reunion, never dreamed my reason for not going would be I'm on missions on the other side of the world…10 year class reunion this year.
  32. My senior project in high school I interned at the funeral home for 4 months.
  33. Coming up with 50 things is kind of a challenge 🙂
  34. I love to read, and when I do I completely tune out the entire world.
  35. Thunderstorms scare me.
  36. My dream is to move back to India and work in the orphanage and slums. (God could change the desire while on the Race)
  37. Frustrated with people closed minded to international missions.
  38. Absolutely can not wait for training camp to meet my squad.
  39. Friendships mean a lot to me.  I value them and probably put more expectations on the relationships then I should.
  40. The country I am most excited about is China, only because 2 weeks before I found out I was going to China I was speaking at a church and a lady asked me if I would ever go to China…told her there was NO WAY.  So I know God is going to do something BIG while we are there.
  41. Going to miss "Grant and Meehan" days while on the Race.  Have already been asked to quit my job so everyday this summer can be a "Grant and Meehan" day. 
  42. Can't say that I've ever had a "favorite" job.  Always felt like there was more to life than the daily routine….WORLD RACE here I come!!
  43. If my iPod is on…I never listen to an entire song. Constantly changing songs.
  44. Never been professional diagnosed but I'm pretty sure I'm ADD…SQUIRREL!!!!!
  45. My favorite dessert is Red Velvet Cake balls.
  46. Until I was 24 I was obsessed with Disney World…had been 20 something times.  God convicted me that I was putting Disney before Him and as a result it had turned into a god itself.  Haven't been back since.
  47. 1 car wreck…anxiety attack driving down the interstate.  When witnesses called 911 they asked for a body bag.  (same night God convicted me of my Disney god)
  48. Calling myself a missionary just seems weird.  All I'm doing is answering the call, "Who shall I send?" (Isaiah 6:8)
  49. I LOVE my Sunday School class and church family.  Could not ask for a more awesome group of people.
  50. My favorite Bible verse/life verse Psalm 19:14 "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer."
  51. I always give 110% and try my absolute best.

So excited about meeting my squad in July, and about the launch in September!!!
