Recently I have been noticing the letter "Q" everywhere. There is this special attachment that I have now where I find myself being drawn to anything having to do with "Q" . Weird right?
Not if you understood what I experienced at World Race training camp.
The morning I drove to training camp I was seriously thinking about turning around and going right back to my bed. It was cold and raining and I felt sick to my stomach. I didn't know anyone and I wasn't too keen on getting to know anyone. I didn't want to have to tap into my "extravert" qualities (that's just exhausting). I just wanted to stand in the back corner of the room and observe, never connecting, just observing. I wanted to be comfortable and I just wanted to make it through the week and get back to my life. Right?
Wrong.
"These people" commonly known as Q squad (qqqqqqq…also sounds like booooo) are some of the most eager people I have ever met. They are eager to love and to be loved, to live and learn together, to try out real and raw community. They are eager to be transparent with themselves and others in their struggles as well as their triumphs.They are eager to build one another up in the most brotherly/ sisterly love I have ever experienced. They are eager to recognize the Kingdom in themselves, call it out in others and bring it to the world.
No agenda.
These people love for the pure sake of living out the greatest commandment: Love God and love others. They are eager to do this, they will do whatever it takes. They will go through trials, pain, awkwardness, difficult conversations, hurt, tears, laughter, 2 hour hikes…Q will endure. Because WE are eager to experience the presence and power of God that we have never experienced before.
So yeah Q now holds a very special place in my heart. It's not just an awkward and mostly forgotten about letter. Q is the faces and lives that I have come to know, as well as the stories that have all come into this beautiful collision with one another. I am absolutely humbled and honored to be a part of this outstanding group of world changers.
and also we're the best squad ever so theres that too…
