I guess I haven’t exactly made it very well known what I have been up to the past few months here in Georgia. I think mainly that was because I wasn’t really sure myself.
After having my car break down multiple times right before I moved, I was really just glad to have made it.
I had planned on doing an apprenticeship with Adventures in Missions that would have part intentional discipleship/ part working in the office. Well when I got down here, I didn’t have any support raised so they suggested that I choose a different path.
Next option was that I would volunteer in the department that I really wanted to be in while working on my support raising. Maybe plan to join the Center for Global Action (CGA) that Adventures was planning on having. Awesome that sounds good too, but now I’m not doing that either (the CGA part and I got a part-time job instead of support raising).
So I volunteered all summer. I came into my department at the busiest time of the year and was used mainly to fill in the gaps of whatever needed to be done. Not exactly my ideal type of work. I really enjoy structure to what I do and repetition so that I can get better at it. This had none of that. It was leadership paperwork one week, trip descriptions the next, then ordering t-shirts, oh and someone needed a plane ticket to that location, can you do that? Yes, I can.
But luckily, the chaos that has been summer has come to and end, and this is what I will be doing for the next year. I am so happy to actually know what I am doing I can’t help but to share it with you!
TODAY! is our location draft!
Adventures Encounter (my department) has 39 locations that we will be sending over 5,000 people to in 2013! and HOLY CROW! I am a part of that!
I will be working in Project Development for 2013 which means that I will be choosing 5 locations in our draft today! For these 5 locations I will be responsible for setting up the trips that will go to those locations. I will contact ministry partners, organize meals, lodging, and a rough ministry schedule for each of these trips. And I am really excited about it!
What I am asking from you today is to please pray for me!!!!!!
I KNOW the locations that I want. But I want to want the locations also that God wants to give to me.
