I’m about to write on a topic every world racer knows and loves…support. That’s right. This, is the support blog. Peruse it, ponder it, and appreciate it. And if by the end of it you so desire, donate =). Here goes nothing.
So, some of you might have already received a support letter from me. Have no fear if you have not, it will be coming in the next month or two. I love support letters, but they’re just so formal. And as nice as that is, I’m still asking you for money. This is super awkward for me. I’m very much a person that tries to fend for myself and asking someone else to provide for me (besides my family) is…well, painful. But for this mission experience I have to raise $14,800, which is a lot of money. Being the poor college student that I am, there is no way I could foot this bill on my own. And frankly, God doesn’t want me to. Instead, I’m having to trust in someone else, in Him, to provide. Not my strong suit. Which is why I’m proposing this: that you help me be FULLY FUNDED BY THE TIME I LEAVE IN AUGUST.
Now this is kind of a big deal. I have to have 40% of my funds in my account by the time I leave and I need to be fully funded by month 6. See the big deal? To be fully funded in 9 months seems kind of crazy, ludicrous even, but you know what? With God’s provision, it can and will happen! This goal has been on my heart since I accepted to go on the race, but I couldn’t bring myself to share it with anyone. This is a huge goal and to me, it seems impossible. To God, it definitely is not impossible. And that’s why I’ve finally decided to share it. In doing so, I’m putting my faith in the Lord to provide- not in myself or my family.
Do you know who the Lord is going to use to provide? You. And do you know who you are ministering to?
These kids. These families. These nations. You may not be able to go, but I can and you can help me. In doing so, you help the least of these.
