We have arrived in Cambodia and have had our first few days of ministry. Cambodia is beautiful, especially in the villages. We are working with Pastor Thyvenn who pastors a local church in a city right out side of Phnom Penh. He has a great heart for seeing the gospel being spread and a authenticity that is unbelievable. Most of the week we will be teaching English to those in the church and playing soccer with the locals during the evening. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday we head to villages to share a story and interact with the villagers.

The village we went to on Saturday was a row of straw houses built on stilts to avoid flooding. I helped act out the children’s story of Jonah. After the story we were able to spend some time playing with them and just be those crazy American’s and love them. I also got to hold a kitty and rock a baby to sleep. My heart was full.

On Sunday we had a church service and my team had the opportunity to lead worship. Luckily my team is much more musically inclined and gifted than I am so it didn’t sound that bad. A team member shared her testimony and it fit right in with the message that the pastor gave. It was really awesome to see how God worked that perfectly together. Sunday afternoon we went to the most beautiful and awesome place on the face of the earth. We took a tuk tuk ( a cart pulled by moped- basically the coolest transportation ever) for a long ride and then got on boats that look kinda like a rough gondola. It was the most peaceful experience ever. We paddled down the river for a while passing houses built on water until we arrived at an island village. The women and children were so receptive to everything that we were saying. It was a magical experience. Once we shared our bible story we were able eat a rice/banana cake thing. They take a banana roll it in rice then wrap it in a banana leaf and boil it. BEST.THING.EVER. I loved it. We also ate some amazing fruit. I felt so full leaving that village.

Talk to yall later!
