If you remember the man from my last post…..Keep praying.
As Rona translated to this man of God's provision, I awkwardly stood by watching this stoic, poverty stricken man, start to cry.
I was reminded once again of how much God provides.
Last week I had the opportunity to take him to the government hospital in Manila to see what could be done for the man.
He was "quickly" (8hrs later) admitted for surgery preparation, lab work ups, and placed on IV antibiotic for his amputation. (Something this man has prayed ALONG time for).
On one of the posters in the hospital I saw this quote from Florence Nightingale about how nothing ever gets done under the spirit of fear. So when I showed up 3 days later and nothing had been done. I was frustrated and I knew a lot of it was the paralyzing effects of fear.
We spoke to the nurse, social worker, and doctor to get some answers and to speed up this hospital process. The doctors are going the antibiotic and debridement route. Hopefully ruling out amputation all together and not just delaying it.
We've left the Philippines: Leaving this situation and countless others in very capable hands. Please continue pray.
Pray for complete healing.
Pray the spirit of fear would depart.
Pray for wisdom on everyone involved.
Pray for continued provision.
Pray for strength.
Pray for peace.
Pray God's love would continue to pour out on this man. That he would shout God's praises throughout his hospital stay.
Pray for protection – as he stays in a mass ward surrounded by countless possible sources of infection.
These goodbyes are getting harder.
