“If you love your father or mother more than you love me, you are not worthy of beong mine; or if you love your son or daughter more than you love me, you are not worthy of being mine. If you refuse to take up your cross and follow me , you are not worthy of being mine. If you cling to your life you will lose it; but if you give it up for me, you will find it.” Matthew 10: 37-39
This is what the Lord has been pressing on my heart since I have been here. He has been teaching me to give up myself and lay everything down at His feet. He asks us to give up everything for Him. Only the Lord can be our strength and comfort. As I am learning this, I am finding that life seems to run a bit smoother when you let God take controll. In everything Christ is the only thing that will NEVER leave you or forsake you! I hope that you find this encouraging in your lives as much as I did.
We have had the opprotunity to work with the Compassion International children here in Sikhoraphum these past few days! It has been AMAZING!! These children have so much joy and life in them—all they want is for someone to love them, teach them and hold them. They thirst for knowledge–it’s incredible! I have never taught English to anyone before, but they LOVE it; and they don’t know that I have no idea what I’m doing…HAHA! Me and another one of my teammates taught these little 6 and 7 year olds four diferent shapes…it took us 1 hour to get through it so they understood; but the whole time you could tell that they REALLY wanted to learn them no matter how long it took them. Today we were praying and one of the little girls that is about 6yrs. old, asked if we would pray for her to be able to read, write and speak english better! They are amazing children of the Lord! I can see it in thier little faces. Starting Tuesday we are going to be going into the schools to teach english. Please pray for me and my team in these next couple weeks. We have already been able to see the Lords hand in what we are doing here. I PROMISE to have pictures up soon!! I have been having trouble uploading them…I appologize!
