Written 11-30-10
So today I got a bit frazzled — slow, uncooperative African
internet wasn’t helping either. So as I sat at the internet café trying to
upload a video message for my home pastors last service for the third time I
felt like I needed the Word. So I got out my Bible and went to Isaiah 43.
“But now, this is what
the Lord says — he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel; “Do not
fear, for I have redemmed you; I have summoned you BY name, YOU are MINE. When you pass through the waters I will be
with you; and when you pass through the rivers they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set
you ablaze…..I give Egypt for your ransom…since you are precious and honored in
my sight and because I love you…I will give nations in exchange for you….Do not
be afraid, for I am with you….everyone who is called by my name, whom I created
for my glory whom I formed and made.� (Isaiah 43: 1-4, 7)
Thank you Lord for the reminder that I am YOURS. I am in
Your hands. That is all I need to know. When I lose control of everything
around me (today and well every day on the race), I can look to Him and know
that He has EVERYTHING IN control. The waters will not overcome me, instead
because I am grounded in the Lord they will wash over me renewing me. I will
not be burned by the fire, instead I will be refined like silver. I will never
leave the Lord’s hand rather He will give nations for me because I am precious
to Him and LOVED.
My foundation can be found in the Lord. That is where I am
to be grounded. But it was this last section that struck me even more….
“Do not be afraid, for
I am with you….everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory
whom I formed and made.� (Isaiah 43: 7)
I was humbled today as I was reminded of my identity.

for MY glory�
I was created by God. He formed and made me, for this moment
and time. But not for myself. My whole life was made for God’s glory. God’s
glory. Everything I do is for HIS glory, NOT my own. I have known this truth….i read a book on it.
But today it went deeper…..i now have experiencial learning to go with the
knowledge…..
It’s not about me, it’s not whether I get the video up or
not, that doesn’t matter to the Lord. He created this world, He can get the
video posted if He wants for goodness sakes. It’s how I react and live out the
moment in the internet shop. I don’t have to be afraid or worry about if the
video will upload (which it didn’t), I just have to have peace knowing my God
is in control and praise Him for who He is. God has been showing me this over
and over that no matter the circumstance give thanks and praise. He is
deepening that truth into my core and foundation and it’s good. For I am made for His glory. ALL that I do is
FOR HIM. I don’t need to worry or fear anymore because it’s all about Him. He
will take care of everything. Every detail is in His hands and He cares for me.
He loves me and will never leave me. I know He is good and that there is
nothing to worry about. I am here for Him. That is my identity, I am Megan, a
daughter of the King made for HIS glory!
