What is the World Race Power Squad? It’s a group of my friends and family who are so crazy about life, the World Race, and me that they are willing to run/walk 3 miles for it! Each member of the Power Squad will sign up for a 5K or 10K (see specifics below), ask people to sponsor them to run/walk the race in honor of me and the World Race, and then show up on race day in their World Race t-shirt and FLOOD the course with the rest of the squad!
Hopefully we will be able to add some publicity to this and raise awareness and support of the World Race, myself, and just what the t-shirt (pics coming soon) says “The Power of ONE.” (thus the team name) There are many messages behind the shirt, and for each individual it will mean something different. The power that one individual, one team, one church, one family, etc. can have can forever shape and change the world.
This is where it began for me. I am ONE individual who is stepping out and saying, “I want to create change, I want to be the change.” And I know I will be changed by this trip, most likely by one individual, one conversation, one moment. ONE is big. ONE person changed my life and I hope to share this individual and His love and hope with all that I meet. The one man, Jesus, changed the world forever and it is with His power and strength that I take my step. But as we all know I can’t do this alone. This is a team effort and I’m hoping to FLOOD these courses with your help. ONE team member can touch ONE supporter that I would normally be able to touch. ONE dollar could change the future of my trip. The Power of ONE has many meanings to me, these are just a few…..what is your meaning?

but still want to run, find a race in your town and sign up! Email me the info and I will post it on this site and then email you all the info for collecting sponsors. Flood the course with your ONE shirt, you could definitely make a difference. And if I’m close I could come run it with you!

**For those of you who want their kids involved there is a 1K Kids’ Klassic on Friday night at 6:30pm.
Entry Fee: $20 with group discount but must fill out a paper registration form (see below)

**On Saturday, June 19th we will meet before the race and get pumped up! We will cheer on the 10Kers and then do the same for the 5Kers. Then to celebrate the race and my last day in Kalamazoo, we will have a BBQ in the afternoon (Time/Location TBD).
