A lot has changed since my last blog because I am now working at camp before I leave in September for the World Race. I am very excited to be back at the place I have called home for three summers…there is no place I would rather be! Camp is the place where I have grown deeper in my relationship with Christ, formed lasting relationships, and discovered one of my passions of working with children.

Working at camp this summer is exactly where I know God wants me to be. This summer I am working with the Summer Adventure Day Camp program. This means I will be able to investing in the same children all summer long and see them grow in their relationship with Christ. I am excited about this aspect of the ministry because during World Race I will be moving around often and meeting new people along the way. I am excited that for the summer I will get to invest in the same kids from day to day. This will allow me to really get to know them and their needs. Working with the same group of kids all summer I will also get to have a lot of fun with them from sliding down a slip-n-slide to playing messy games. At the end of each day I will probably be exhausted, but I would have it no other way. Every time I see a a smile come across a campers face it makes it all worth it. When I see a camper sing a song about Jesus at the top of their lungs or invite Christ into their life for the first time that’s what its all about. The kids keep me going every day and are a continually reminder to me to have a child like faith.

The campers arrive in about a week and I can’t wait for them to come!I will keep you posted on all the new things God continues to teach me throughout the summer!!
