Psalm 77: 19

Your path led through the sea,

your way through the mighty waters,

though your footprints were not seen.

This verse really stood out to me today. Maybe because I’m in this weird phase of my life where I feel like I’m waiting for God to show up and work through me, and in my life. I’m not in college anymore, but I’m not on the race yet. I’m fundraising, working, trying not to be ruled by emotions or the world, trying to be obedient and prepare my heart.

It’s easy, in the waiting period, to not see God’s hand at work in our lives. It’s easy to settle into a lukewarm life of complacency and not really look for God’s hand.

Even when it doesn’t feel like it, God is having his way in our lives (if we are following him). We can’t always see results or fruits of that right away. We live in a world that values instant gratification, but we serve a God that is outside of time. That takes some adjustment:) Right now, I am learning to enjoy the wait. I want to keep my eyes open to the Lord and what he is doing, but also remind myself that sometimes his footprints won’t be seen until later. One day, I’m going to look back on this season and be grateful for all the Lord is teaching me. Right now my job is just to be obedient and patient
