Our time here in Malaysia has been full of adventure. We are in the province of Kelantan, teaching English in a resource center. To get to our ministry site we got to take a train through the jungle. It was a fun start to our adventure.
We have been busy passing out fliers to get the word out about the English classes that are available. It’s fun to interact with people in their communities and spread the word about the center.
We found some jack fruit. (the best fruit in the world!)
We went to a village outside of town to teach some English, teach hygiene(brushing teeth, brushing hair, and washing hands), and play games. It was a good experience. The boys were excited to see us and play with us.
We also were able to explore some caves and hike to the top to watch the sunset. It was beautiful!
We teach English classes for the community at night and help home school our contact’s children during the day. We have been able to teach math, science, history, art, language art, spanish, and photography. Here is a picture from our photography class.
Malaysia is a very interesting country. It is the first country we have been to where openly talking about God can get you in trouble and cause trouble for our ministry. Being christian can sometimes make you an outcast. We have to be careful about what we say and what we wear. We want to serve our ministry, but also protect them. Instead of sharing the gospel, we just have to live it and let our lives and actions reflect Jesus.
