It’s a new year and a new team. Just before leaving Thailand and starting 2014, we had team changes. My wonderful time with team Ubuntu has come to an end. The past 4 months with them has been an amazing time of learning, growing, and having fun.

Now it is time to start a new chapter in the race. A chapter that I already know is going to bring more growth, learning, and laughter. My new teammates are Amie (the team leader), Hannah, Tayo, Seth, and James.

When we started talking about what we wanted to name our team, we all agreed that our team was pretty laid back and flow-y, like water. We were described like 6 small rivers coming together to merge into one large, strong river, but we felt like we wanted to be more. We needed to have some fire in us. So here we are, team Catching Fire.

To me, this name means more than just what we discussed. I want to be on fire for God. I want to be bold for Him. I had an image of what exactly that means to me…

Catching Fire and burning away any chains left from burdens I have been carrying. Burdens not meant for me in the first place, but I have taken on myself because I refused to give them over to God. But I don’t want them anymore. I don’t need to worry because God’s got it handled and he always does what is best for me.
