I want to live a life that is EAGER for the plans of the Lord; to live in a position of joyful surrender and expectancy for the work and power of the Holy Spirit.

I was reading in Matthew chapter 4 the other day about the calling of the first disciples, specifically the calls of Simon Peter, Andrew, James, and John.
After Jesus calls out to them and says to come follow Him, in both instances the Word tells us, "Immediately they left…and followed him." (v. 20 & 22)
James and John even left their father behind to follow Jesus.

IMMEDIATELY.

Why don't I do that?
Why don't we do that?
When we hear the call of the Lord, why do we so often hesitate?

Are we afraid?
Fear is NOT of the Lord.

Do we believe we can't handle it?
WE probably can't, but the Lord equips us FULLY for EVERYTHING He calls us to.

Are we resistant to losing our comforts?
The Holy Spirit resides in us, and He is THE Comforter.

So….
Father, I SURRENDER. I surrender my life to You. I surrender my plans. I surrender what I think my future "should" look like. I surrender what I want for what YOU want.
I run EAGERLY towards Your plans, God.

Because I would rather live this life poor in the physical, but rich in the Spirit.
I would rather be the least to the world and be first in the eyes of the Father.
I would rather other people think of me as some WEIRD SPIRIT WOMAN and know the Lord more and more with each passing day than to be "normal" and be bound to the world.

So, I choose to listen to the voice of Jesus and IMMEDIATELY follow after Him.
Because He is continually spurring His people onward into deeper and deeper levels of greatness in the Spirit, in the eternal things.
And I say YES and AMEN to that.
I say YES and AMEN to the things of the Kingdom…they far outlast anything we could ever prefer in this life.
