I took off for the World Race training camp in Georgia last Friday with several expectations.
But the funny thing about expectations is, regardless of what we hope for, the Lord ALWAYS has the final say-so.
And man oh man, were my expectations completely shaken, flipped upside down, and thrown out the window!
God, legit, ROCKED MY SOCKS this week in ways I never expected! no joke.
I learned that genuine brotherly love amongst believers is actually a real, here and now thing.
I learned what it looks like to have someone truly walk WITH you through brokenness.
I learned that your words and the things you declare are powerful.
I learned that when Jesus shows up, "YES!!!!" is the only appropriate answer.
I learned that Truth must be declared in faith in order for healing to take place.
I learned that vulnerability is not a sign of weakness, but of great STRENGTH.
I learned THE HOLY SPIRIT IS ALIVE AND KICKIN'!!! (check out my good friend Jacob's testimony from training camp this week at the bottom of the blog…you won't be sorry! I promise!!!)
I learned that we ALL put God "in a box" far too often.
I learned that "my Jesus" was WAYYYYY TOO SMALL!!!!!
I learned that growth requires willingness to change.
I learned what it means to SPEAK LIFE.
I learned that our stories have the power to set someone else free from bondage.
I learned I will never have God "figured out" in this life….continual growth is key!
I learned that every single day is an opportunity for REVIVAL.
I learned so much more, those are just a few highlights.
I can honestly say I will never be the same after this week, and I don't want to be!
I am even MORE excited and ready to see what the Lord will do in and through this incredible, strong group of believers and worshippers over the course of 11 months together!
"Then Peter said, 'Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.' Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong. He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God. When all the people saw him walking and praising God, they recognized him as the same man who used to sit begging at the temple gate called Beautiful, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.
While the beggar held on to Peter and John, all the people were astonished and came running to them in the place called Solomon's Colonnade. When Peter saw this, he said to them: 'Men of Israel, why does this surprise you? Why do you stare at us as if by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk? The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus….By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus' name and the faith that comes through him that has given this complete healing to him, as you can all see.'" ~Acts 3:6-13,16 (NIV)
