Meagan, our 3rd child, was the only girl in a family with 4 boys until her younger sister, Caitlyn, was born when she was 10 years old. She learned quickly how to keep up with the guys. Meagan wasn’t usually interested in frilly dresses, purses, dolls or “girly” things, but give her some Legos and she could keep up with the best of them. Being a visual-spatial learner gave her an edge when it came to design which we saw blossom in the area of photography. At 16, she began a Dog Kennel business breeding and selling AKC chocolate Labrador Retrievers and Labradoodles. A few years later found her with a CNA license and working at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in a small town on the plains of Colorado.
Meagan’s spiritual journey began when she was born as we (her parents) tried to fill our home with the things of God as we walked by the way, as we lay down and as we rose….. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior when she was 6 years old and continued her own journey through family devotions, personal Bible reading, memorizing scripture, attending church and being a part of a close community of believers. Over the past couple of years, I have seen her mature in her faith as a witness at the nursing home, as a leader in our church’s Awana program, as a member of a Life Group, and as she interacts with friends and family. Currently I see her continue to grow as she steps out in faith by joining The World Race January 15 Team.
