Dear family and friends,
As most of you know, I recently finished my Discipleship Training School through Youth With A Mission. It was a total of 5 months long. My first 3 months in Mexico were spent learning more about who God is and who I am to God. It was an intense 3 months for me, as I was healed and stretched in so many ways. We also did several local missions, including building homes, working with the local kids, and witnessing in the “Red Light District” to the homeless, prostitutes and drug dealers. For the other 2 months, I was on outreach in Panama and Costa Rica. In Panama, we spent a few weeks with local tribes, building churches and eveangelizing. The culture shock was intense, but it was such a beautiful place. In one day, we saw 16 people accept Christ. We also worked in a local village sleeping on the floor of a church doing VBS groups for the children. It was a blessed time, and we were the first missionaries to visit this village. It was an incredible experience, paving the way for others to come. In Cost Rica, we worked in a local ghetto where we saw God move mountains to literally get us through the door. we went to orphanages and did street ministry, working around one of the biggest brothels in the world. It was a place of hopelessness; and yet God brought hope and light.
The biggest thing I have learned through this time is Relationship with God; not religion. That we need to get back to the Acts 2 model of church and truly be unified; loving unconditionally, sharing all that we have and picking up our crosses to truly be disciples of Christ. In regards to this, since coming home, I have been holding dinners at my house were anyone and everyone is invited. It is sharing the blessings that God has given me and also about rallying the church to do the same.
This has been my life for the past year and I want to thank you all for the prayers and financial support that was given to make it all possible. You have been a part of transforming my life for Christ and I cannot be more grateful and humbled by the generosity. I would also like to share with you and ask you to join me for the next journey on which God is taking me. I have been accepted to the World Race (which is NOT a race), an incredible opportunity that has been given to me. I will be leaving in January 2013 for 11 months, to share the Gospel in 11 different countries. I could not be more excited to see what is in store for this time. By God’s grace, I will be able to be a vessel for Him: to be His hands and feet. I will show His love in a practical way, share that those who feel lost are actually being pursued and those who are hopeless, hope has been promised.
I am asking for prayers and financial support, as this is a huge undertaking and I will need the body of Christ to help send me. If you have any questions about the organization (World Race) or donations or concerns, please don’t hesitate to call, e-mail or text me, or post a message on Facebook. I am more than willing to answer anthing I can. My blog is agraceulredemtion.wordpress.com (I know I mispelled it, I am sorry) where you can follow my adventures. Thank you so much.
Blessings,
McKenna Wilde
