I love when God works through the Church and I love it when He does so through people that I know.  I met Eli on the World Race in 2008.  We were on the same squad.  He’s a great guy, ladies!  He might be short, but he’s Italian, so I’m convinced that he has some kind of connections that could possibly get me slaughtered.  Therefore, I will only speak good things about him…

After our World Race, Eli made plans to travel to Argentina.  He wanted to get better at Spanish but he also just wanted to befriend a family, possibly a widow, and do life with them, serve them and more.  Eli flew down to Argentina and literally had no real plan.  He was trusting God, so to speak, and then met a family and… well… the rest is history.

He put together this video that charts his adventure and his ministry down there.  It’s three minutes-ish.

Eli was down there for about six months and he made a significant impact in this family’s life.  He selflessly obeyed God, trusted Him beyond all reason, and did what most people won’t.  I’m sure that this family felt chased down and recklessly pursued by God! I think that’s so incredible.

All because of one man’s obedience.

Does this kind of story inspire you or what?!  It definitely stirs me.  I just hope that I don’t sit on my butt and keep talking about doing things like this for the rest of my life.
