Guess what? You probably guessed it. These Friday updates are no surprise anymore. At all. I think everyone could potentially see them coming from over a mile away. Seriously though. I’m almost enjoying them now, myself. I didn’t make a video this week. It’s very taxing on me. I hate being in front of a camera.
Okay, read away.
The Highlights.
Mark Stratmann. I know. It sounds really…
odd… that another dude would be a highlight of the week, but you just don’t get it.
Mark Stratmann is one of my best friends from the World Race and he officially moved in on Sunday. Why, yes, folks… he’s a support raising missionary as well!
You can support him here. Let me explain to you why I like Mark. Mark, aside from being an awesome friend, is a builder. We’ve made many things since he’s been here (including highlight number two of the week). But Mark joined our logistics staff. What’s he do exactly? He travels. A LOT. This man officially moved in on Sunday and leaves next week for three weeks. Where is he headed? The Middle East. Where else? If you have missionary contacts there – send their info. to me ASAP!
Suprise by Design. I really don’t watch this TV show, but I do know it’s a show on HGTV or something. Okay, maybe I’ve seen it a few times. It’s what our little venture a few afternoons ago made me think of. Let me explain. While we do live in a really awesome house, it’s also kind of boring. All of the walls are white… er…
were white. We took the most loathsome and boring space in the house (our basement offices) and made them someplace you’d like to be. The idea was to turn the kitchen area into a global-themed type coffee bar. Did we succeed? Um… yes. And we also began creating our own office ‘space’. Here’s a picture of mine. Why, yes, my desk chair is a rocker chair. It’s big… and blue. And awesome.
Little League. Now I don’t normally watch Little League baseball… but after family dinner on Tuesday night we sat down and watched part of the Little League World Series. And every night after… I watched the Little League World Series. I don’t know if you watched last night’s game, but it was probably the best baseball game I’ve ever watched. Ever. And I’ve watched a lot of baseball. Oh, what is that? You didn’t know I liked baseball? Surprise…
Snow Leopard. I’ll find any excuse imaginable to drive 1/2 hr. to the nearest Apple Store. It just so happens that the new operating system came out today. About ‘high noon’, amidst all of the rain, Mark and I jumped in the car and traversed to the Apple store… stopping at Chipotle along the way. Why? Because Chipotle is probably one of the greatest places a human being could eat. Think I’m crazy? If you don’t agree with me, then I think you’re crazy. All of this to say: I’m a Mac.
No girls. It’s not a highlight of the week actually, but the house if void of females again. Andi left on Wednesday to go spend some time with her family. I’m not getting on her about that – I think it’s a terrific idea. I’m just saying… it’s odd. It’s weird for there to be no girls in the house. And that sounds weird… thinking that I live in a ginormous house with so many people. God has blessed us, that’s for sure!
Alright, that’s all I got for today. Happy Friday.
