I’ve been thinking in the last few hours about how we really reach our society.

I think that in the last few decades Church has had it wrong.  Too many congregations have invested way too much money in building bigger and better programs, bigger and better air-conditioned church buildings, bigger and better worship bands and all of that nonsense.

Bigger isn’t better.  And better isn’t bigger, because it’s not about attraction; it’s about integration.

It’s an elementary concept, but I think people are just now starting to get it.  They’re just now starting to understand that we can’t use flash and glamour to attract people to the Church.

It’s just not working.

The Kingdom is so much larger than we’ve made it out to be.  The only way for people to understand what it is and to involve themselves in it isn’t for us to plaster it on t-shirts, billboards, or TV screens.

We can’t attract people to the Kingdom of God.

Let’s face it – it’s not that attractive.

When are we going to learn that people don’t come to us, that we have to go to them?  And if we don’t go to them and meet them where they’re at, how is the Kingdom ever going to intersect with every day life?

It’s not about attraction; it’s about integration.

Is the Kingdom a part of your daily life?  Do you live a Kingdom lifestyle or do you just wear the t-shirt?
