I must take a break from regular scheduled programming on the Holy Spirit and indulge you in my weekly update… because it’s Friday!
Good news. The good news is that I’m no longer confused about the weather. Last week I had reported that I was confused because I woke up to a morning chill, put on my flip-flops, and left the house. When I returned home there was snow on the ground; it’s not what they had forecasted. Fortunately, today, it’s supposed to get up to a whoppin’ 64 degrees. The window is currently open in the basement…
Hormones. So I finally decided to make a larger investment into the community here, particularly Cross Current Church, and I’ve committed to helping out with their youth group on Sunday nights as long as I’m in town. Sunday was my first night and it was absolutely incredible. God’s really put the guys on my heart for whatever purpose, into pushing them to become men of God, not just very tall and old boys. So there might be the occasional drama of overactive hormones…
Lack of estrogen. There is a serious lack of estrogen in the house this week. Last weekend Ericka took off, then Kim. On Wednesday Caroline and Andi went their separate ways as well, leaving Jake and I to ‘man the house’. So until Sunday at some point… there is a balance taking place. Jake and I are no longer outnumbered. No more chic-flicks. No more watching the Bachelor on t.v. or High School Musical 3. No. Instead we’ve grunted, romped around the house in our boxers, and watched things go ‘boom’ on the big screen.
Surge of testosterone. Again, if you would read the above paragraph you would know that there has been an increase in testosterone dwelling in the house. Last night we went over to our friend’s house here in Port Huron and spent some time with a bunch of men. It was great. We ate pizza, watched basketball, and burned things in the fire pit outside. It was awesome. We also helped with another food drive on Wednesday afternoon, lifting heavy boxes loaded with food for hungry families. With over 130 volunteers, we fed 404 families in a little over an hour!
Provision. I didn’t post a support blog this week so I’m going to shamelessly use one of these paragraphs to inform you that I’m still searching relentlessly for financial supporters. If you would like to give to the ministry of the World Race so I can continue to train missionaries, empower them, and raise a generation to Kingdom movement, you can do so by clicking here.
