I’m back.  I’m back in that place that I once loved to find myself before, that place where my mind unreasonably sparks itself to life and I’m able to think, I’m able to breathe, and I’m able to create.

I’m in a coffee shop.  Raw and off-kilter music violently works its way through the air, trying to please those who are subject to listen to it; scores of people are scattered about, drinking those things that suppress the worrisome thoughts of the day; dim lights flood the place with their limited offering…

… and I just sit here taking it all in.

It’s the end to an adventurous week, to a curtain drawing itself closed.  I only know that more lurks around the corner on Monday, more awaits itself to be touched and to be finished; but I just chose to sit here and relish in this environment where I feel a little more like ‘myself’.

This past week was spent in Gainesville, Georgia where several of us staff for the World Race gathered around an oddly shaped ‘round table’ and dissected the most intricate parts of the program.  It was a grueling task where hours upon hours of our time were exhausted and we, ourselves, were drained in every medium possible.

But I can confidently say that this program is going to skyrocket over the course of this next year, even more lives will be touched, even more nations will be changed, and a larger portion of this sleeping giant will be awakened.  The Kingdom of God has found itself slowly rising in more than just our hearts, but in the hearts of all here in the restless Church of America.

Here at the World Race, we refuse to idle with a “full tank.”  This vehicle is on the move!

And so although I’m resting my tires after a long week of travel and pouring out my spirit, I can only think of this coffee shop as my safe haven, as a place that I can harbor creativity and unleash stories into the blogosphere, and perhaps (one day) onto the bookshelves of some of my favorite bookstores like Barnes and Nobles.

I suppose that’s a distant dream, however.  God has other things in mind before I venture that far into the unknown.  Plus, I have a lot more growing and learning to do before I tackle such a feat.  So until then, I’m going to finish this “Chunky Monkey Mocha” and find my way home…

**Might I mention that as soon as I got home I found myself watching Grey’s Anatomy with some of the girls.  Help… me… **
