I’ve
been subtly hinting in my blog posts that “I’m still doing this thing,” or that
“this isn’t over.” And I’ve had a lot of
probing questions come my way, a lot of people asking me what the next step is,
what my next move is going to be and how I’m going to get there. I’ve spent the last several months
formulating a plan as to what my re-entry was going to look like and crafting
what I believed this next year could look like as well. Surprisingly, it’s all taking shape and I
love the fact that the things God has placed on my heart are the very things
that are standing on the horizon waiting for me to grasp.

A
year like this has a lot of potential to wreck a person, to ruin them for a
cause that’s greater than themselves. And if anything, that is exactly what the World Race program has done
for me. It took me out of my shell, out
of the only “me” that I ever knew, and placed me in an environment where my
only refugee was the outstretched arms of God the Father. I sought sanctuary in the lap of Jesus and
let Him form me into a tried and true new creation – something only He is
capable of. Through a lot of pain and
heartache I came out on the other end a man of God, a man who is confident in
his sonship and embraces the reality of his Kingdom inheritance.

I’ve
seen Kingdom come in its purest form. I’ve seen lives reborn, the crippled walk with strength, the complacent
become active, fires ignited, churches planted, captives freed, orphans fed,
widows loved, lepers touched, and the seeds of a changed world sown and reaped.

I
couldn’t have done this without you – my faithful supporters. And so from the bottom of my heart I thank
you
with a thanks I cannot seem to craft into appropriate words. The investment you have made into my life was
not merely into my life, but also
into the Kingdom and seeing it bloom all over the globe. By contributing to my life, you’ve
contributed to furthering the Kingdom… your
inheritance, as well as mine.

Again
– thank you.

I’ve
said before that my heart is to ‘raise the dead’. I echo the cries of this generation that’s
waking up and beaconing itself to life, that’s provoking itself to movement
driven by love and fueled by a desire to see the world changed. The last 11 months were only the beginning;
they were only used as opportunities to get my feet wet. I’ve had a dream planted into my soul, a
dream that I must live out, and it’s a dream that can only be lived out in and
through God’s Kingdom.

So
I’m still doing this thing – living a life in service to God, dependent on Him
and the Church.

I’m
moving to Port Huron, Michigan in early January to go on staff with the World
Race
, the exceptional program that I traversed around the globe with seeing
lives changed – my own being one of them. I’ll be with several others from the January 2008 squad, living in
community, and taking the next steps involved in seeing the World Race program infectiously
expand under the leadership of Michael Hindes.

I’ll
be involved in a variety of things, particularly these:

Training, Launches,
Debriefs

o
I
will travel to Gainesville, GA several times a year to assist in training World
Race squads for 10 days at a time. My
involvement here will be to lead worship, raise up worship teams, train teams
on storytelling, blogging, and other things such as leadership.

o
I
will travel internationally to launch squads into their WR experience. This is
usually for a few days at the beginning of their trip.

o
I
will also travel internationally every few months and assist in debriefing WR
squads after specific months of ministry. It’s a time to pour into teams, help them work through issues, and teach
them.

Marketing

o
Writing
– many of you know that I have a passion and a knack for writing. Well, I’ve been asked to develop this gifting
even more by writing more for AIM and the World Race. I’ll help with marketing of sorts by doing my
part in writing for various publications and in capturing stories on and off
the mission field.

o
Blogging
– part of my writing/marketing assignment involves blogging. I will continue my blog and encourage others
to do so. Currently our alumni network
is growing and we’re developing an alumni base and summoning Racers that have
been off of the field to pick up writing their blogs again. A significant number of WR inquiries come through
the blogs that we write (on and off the field), so we want to see this ministry
expanded and online traffic increased.

Ministry

o
Human
Trafficking
is a global issue that is very close to my heart. God wrecked me for this in Cambodia back in
October. It’s an element of the World
Race that we want to see intensified. Our goal is to see ministry geared towards this locally, nationally, and
internationally. Currently we’re working
on partnering with other ministries to see how we can abolish this issue as a
Body.

o
Conferences
– I will have the opportunity to go participate in several conferences this
year both nationally and internationally and speak about the World Race and
what God is doing in and
through us around the globe.

o
Short
Term Missions – I still have a heart to go out onto the field and serve. I’m not sure if that looks like leading a
team for a few weeks or what, but I know that I want to go out into the field
at some point this year and keep myself rooted in the Church internationally.

These
are only a few things that this next year holds for me. Clearly, however, I cannot get there on my
own. I need your help once again.

Like
I said, many of you were incredibly faithful in serving me this last year by
supporting me financially and through prayer. My life would not have been wrecked and I would not have been awakened
to God’s Kingdom if it had not been for you. You changed my life by supporting me, you changed others through me, and
because of that the world is being changed. Again, thank you from the deepest core of who I’ve become.

I’m
asking for your support again. My goal
is to raise $20,000 – $25,000 for 2009. This money will go towards travel costs (nationally and
internationally), living expenses (in Michigan and around the globe), ministry,
etc.

To
donate, you can click the ‘Support Me Financially‘ link on the left-hand side of the page
or you can request a support card which I can mail to you. All donations are still tax-deductible.

There
is a lot of work to be done in the Kingdom and what God has called me to do I
cannot do while tied down to a 9-5 job, 40 hours per week. I need to be freed to step into the destiny
and dream that God has for my life. This
is why I’m asking for you to support me (prayer/financially) because by doing
so you’re not only investing in yourself and the Church body, but you’re also
investing in changing the world.

Not
all of us are called to the mission field and not all of us are called to do
the work that God has called me to do, which is why we must operate as the
Body. We can’t all be hands or ears;
each of us has a specific role in the Kingdom. Some of us are called to go; some of us are called to ‘send’ the ones
who go. Please, prayerfully consider
helping me fulfill the dream that God has placed inside of me. And together, let’s go raise the dead and
change the world!

Chasing
the King,

Matthew
Snyder
