“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10
We have been in Ireland for about 3 weeks now. We have partnered with Dublin Christian Mission serving the communities of Dublin and Drimnagh. We have been blessed with the opportunity of seeing God work in lives of families and within the lives of each other. We also have had the privilege of serving beside some incredible brothers and sisters in Christ. But why would we want to travel all over the world just to serve people whom you don’t even know??!
Well, I like the way John Piper puts it:
Missions is not the ultimate goal of the church. Worship is. Missions exists because worship doesn’t. Worship is ultimate, not missions, because God is ultimate, not man. When this age is over and the countless millions of redeemed fall on their faces before the throne of God, missions will be no more. It is a temporary necessity. But worship abides forever.
I love worshipping before God. I love being able to enter into His presence and let myself go. It is a safe place, because I am in His presence, and nothing can stand between myself and God. He covers me in the shadow of his wings!
This morning was a precious time spent with the Lord. Although I was tired from not having slept enough, God met me in my worship at Trinity Church in Dublin. I was filled with joy as I sang to Him and prayed. Then as I felt the spirit move, I heard one of the members start clapping in a joyous, celebratory fashion. It made me happy.
As I looked across the aisle I witnessed a relatively short elderly women praising God with all her heart. She was beautiful! She had a pleasant smile across her face, and had her arms raised toward heaven, as if to say “I love you with all my heart, Lord! Accept my offering of praise!” She did not lower her arms until all the songs were over.
I talked to her later and found out that the gorgeous little lady was named Marie. She told me about how she loves the LORD and that when she enters into worship, she gives the Lord everything she has.
And that, my good people, is what living life with God is all about. We must accept that His grace alone is sufficient enough to provide for his children. Let us all surrender all we have to Jesus, and then at the end of our lives we can all look back at our lives and see that it can be summed up in this simple phrase, “I worshiped the King with all my heart!”
Blessings to all in Christ Jesus Our Lord. Hallelujah! He is Faithful!
Your Brother, Matt
