I was born and raised in Anaheim, California, nearly in the shadow of Disneyland. In fact, I even went to Walt Disney Elementary School. I was involved in music my entire school year, taking 12 years of piano lessons and playing trumpet in junior high and high school. I was also very interested in the organ, which brought me to a number of different churches in high school and helped pay for college J. This is good!  However, I ended up graduating in 1998 with a degree in education from Oakland City University in Southern Indiana.

From the time that I was in college, I felt called to missions in some fashion. It has taken me eight years to get the point in which I am ready to throw my life into serving the people of the world. For the last eight years, I have been an elementary school teacher in an inner city school in Anaheim, California. It has definitely been through this experience that God has broken my heart for the lost of this world. While I have had the opportunity to share the love of Christ with inner city children, I want to live my entire life on the edge, for Christ, allowing His love to reflect through me.

Over the past year, I have taught English in Colombia and built a children’s ministry building in Paraguay. I also had the honor of teaching a class on children’s ministry in Kampong Chanang, Cambodia last September. It certainly has been through these experiences that God has confirmed my calling to serve Him with my entire life in a cross-cultural, missionary setting.

I am excited about the World Race and am absolutely enthralled with the idea of living life completely dependent up on God and completely ready to serve Him with my entire life. I am also very excited to be able to serve and interact with other people that have the same mindset and desire to live on the edge.
