Tonight I watch my sisters go to war…
With fire in their eyes and swords in their hands.
Off they march into battle,
With the vengeance of the Lord on their side.
Into the darkness they walk….
Onward they walk into the night, bringing with them light and life.
To spread Hope and Love for this they fight.
On and on into the night, this is their fight.
They fight not with word and deed, but with spirit and truth.
The words they speak are not their own, but only of You.
On into the night they fight.
As they go all along, never alone will they walk.
For where they are going you have already been.
This is a fight, only you can win.
On and on into the night, the battle that wages is of spirit and life.
On and on into the light, for you have won this fight.
Not only this battle, but the campaign and war. For you are always the Victorious Lord.
A few nights ago, three girls from our squad, three ladies we met in ministry here, two other guys, and I went to work with victims of sex trafficking here in Paris. Hundreds of thousands of people visit Paris each month, and this is happening right under their noses. People being held. Prisoners. Captives. Their bodies being sold night after night, and they get no say in the matter.
This is Slavery.
Slavery of the modern day.
Slavery without regards to color, nationality, or religion.
Slavery just for the pure greed of money.
The Lord is Sovereign through all of this though and has gone before us preparing a way. He is already working in the hearts of those we will work with and He is with us as we go.
This is what the “Correct Church Answer” is … and it’s 100% correct. However, I personally have not experienced this in the context of ministry, until a week before this, unknown to me at the time. Last week I rented a bicycle and went for a ride around an area south of where we are staying. This was not my plan for the day, nor was it what needed to be done for the day, but I felt like it was something the Lord was prompting me to do. So off on the bike I went, not having a clue where I was going. I rode past an ancient castle, and through this awesome park with all the classic French scenes.
Then I came to it.
A place where there was a monument in the middle of a roundabout.
God said “Stop“, so I did…
Then it hit me.
The weight. The heaviness. The pain. The grief. The heartbreak.
I knew Gods heart was breaking for this random spot in a Paris park.
I was to go no further, that much was clear. At the time I wasn’t sure why, a week later it would all be made clear to me; the Lord was protecting my path. That very intersection/roundabout is where we went to work with these women getting trafficked.
*Mind Blown*
The 3 guys that went, weren’t supposed to cross that intersection, that’s what the ministry partner told us. The wall that the Lord put up for me the week prior was still in place and we would not be able to cross it, climb it, or blow it wide open. It wasn’t a wall of man, or confinement, but rather a wall of His protection. So, we sat on a park bench and prayed for two solid hours as our girls went where we could not go and engaged the hurting, those in need, and those who need Jesus to bring Kingdom. They were going where we, (where I) could not protect them, only the Lord could. They went without fear. The words written above are words I felt like the Lord was putting on my heart the whole time, and as we sat on that bench I took a second to write them out.
These girls went out in bold, confident faith in the Lord for their protection and guidance, relying only on Him for the words and their actions. When I say this place was DARK that doesn’t even begin to accurately describe what these amazing women of the Lord were walking into. These women were literally walking into Battle, not the battle that most will think of when reading this, no guns, no knives. The hardest kind of warfare there is to fight; Spiritual Warfare. As I watched these women walk into the darkness, fighting for what the Lord says about the women being trafficked, and fighting on their behalf for them to know the Lord, I saw it…
JESUS.
These women were bringing Jesus to the least of these. The people that the world has turned its back on. The forgotten. The alone. The abused. When they crossed back over the street, you could see it in their faces, in the way they walked, in the words they spoke. They had been in battle with the enemy. They were tired. The enemy tried its best to defeat these women… however Satan lost. These women were victorious that night, for Jesus was in their hearts and had gone before them. They were surrounded by Angel Armies. The Lord used them well that night. When they crossed back over that line to us, I saw Jesus shining through them brilliantly, in a way that I don’t think I’ve ever seen.
Meghan, Samantha, Maryah
These are the women The Lord used that night, and will continue to use the next 10 months as we go. I am beyond proud of these women and wouldn’t choose any other women to go to war for me or my team, squad, or family. These girls are my family. I learn so much from them on a daily basis about life and the Lord. They teach me about caring for others, caring for each other, and seeing people, not just looking at them. They bring Kingdom every time they go out. I’m so thankful for them giving me the opportunity to go along with them and support them any way I can.
These are the types of ministry we are engaging on a daily basis. Please subscribe to my blog and to those of my squad (they are incredibly talented!) to see and be a part of what the Lord is doing around the world in the places we go. I still am in the process of fundraising, if you feel led to give you can do so here on my blog site! Thank you all for your support in getting me here!
