Dear World Race Supporters,

Since graduating Charleston Southern University in May of 2016, I have been working as a firefighter with the Sullivan’s Island Fire Department and volunteering with Caromi Fire Department in Ladson, SC. As a firefighter, The Lord has given me incredible opportunities to impact the lives of members of the communities of which I serve, as well as my friends and family. However, over the past year I have felt a prompting from God to pursue His calling to serve and love others from all nations.

While preparing for my missions trip to China in December of 2015, to which many of you made possible through your gifts and continued prayers, I first was introduced to a trip called The World Race. Even in the first moments of hearing about these trips and the organization, I could feel the Lord prompting me to step out in faith and trust His plan for my life and this trip.

The World Race is an 11 month Christian mission trip to 11 countries around the world. The route that I will be on, will be reaching those who live in the 10/40 window, the area around the Earth that has the most unreached people groups. One of the unique things about the World Race is that it’s not only a mission trip but also an intensive discipleship program. Through the World Race, my team and I will serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to preach the Gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, ministering to and discipling those around the world who need Christ most.

During my preparation for the trip and while on the mission field, I will face many challenges and difficulties. During my preparation for the trip, the greatest challenge I face is with fundraising financial support for the mission trip. In order to be fully funded by my launch date of August 2017, I need to raise $18,600. While this seems like an impossible amount to raise, I know that the God we serve is able to provide that and more. Through the whole process of preparation and while on the field, the greatest need my team and I will need is your ongoing prayers for us as a team, those we are trying to reach, and those we are leaving behind for the next 11 months. As I take this large step of faith in trusting the Lord, would you prayerfully consider joining me through financial giving and through prayer?
